WHETHER CURSE OR LIFE

Let’s start here with two truths,

“so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth;
    it shall not return to me empty,
but it shall accomplish that which I purpose,
    and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.” (Isaiah 55:11)

and

“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness” (2 Timothy 3:16)

As I was studying scripture, God downloaded this thought to me:

If I said it, it will come to pass, whether curse or life.

The importance of knowing God’s word is not just limited to the blessings or weapons of warfare, but it is a protection through godly grief, to salvation (2 Corinthians 7:8-11). It is true that God provided many impartations of grace, mercy, and blessings in scripture, but if you look clearly you will notice that many of these have an opposite. Take Proverbs 23:20-21 for example:

“Be not among drunkards or among gluttonous eaters of meat, for the drunkard and the glutton will come to poverty, and slumber will clothe them with rags.”

Here God provides an instruction and a result that WILL COME if we do not heed. This is not a metaphor or a strong assumption, this is God’s breathed word that does not return void.

Look at your life, are you sowing the reap of not knowing the word of God?

“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge;
 because you have rejected knowledge,” (Hosea 4:6)

Here is the good news, through Jesus Christ you have the power to repent (turn away) and be cleansed (1 John 1:9). Not only that, but those sins are forgotten (Hebrews 8:12). But what if we fall short on other things that we don’t know about?

17 “And now, brothers, I know that you acted in ignorance (without knowledge), as did also your rulers. 18 But what God foretold by the mouth of all the prophets, that his Christ would suffer, he thus fulfilled. 19 Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out,” (Acts 3:17-19)

If God can forgive the ignorance of man concerning his only begotten son, how simple it would be to forgive the ignorance of man is smaller matters. The key is to repent upon knowledge. The key is to seek knowledge. The key is to seek HIM!

SCRIPTURES

“You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.” (Jeremiah 29:13)

“An intelligent heart acquires knowledge, and the ear of the wise seeks knowledge.” (Proverbs 18:15)

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight.” (Proverbs 9:10)

“That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him,” (Ephesians 1:17)

“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.” (James 1:5)
